DC die steels are sold in annealed condition, approximately 200BHN.
All DC steel is melted exclusively by the patented VAD process and forged from upset ingots utilizing wide die forging techniques. This assures sound centers and fine grain structure, giving improved isotropic properties throughout the piece. Finkl DC is Vacuum tested in the VAD and Poured in an argon atmosphere to prevent oxidation. Finkl DC-Xtra is subsequently vacuum arc remelted (VAR) to provide even cleaner steel and tougher properties. Finkl DC is ALWAYS forged steel from upset ingots with a minimum of 5 to 1 reduction of area. Finkl DC is 100% tested to rigid standards and is fully warranted and approved by all major users. |
