CarTech Micro-Melt CCW alloy is a high wear and corrosion resistant cobalt base alloy produced by Carpenter's CarTech Micro-Melt gas atomization powder metallurgy process. CarTech Micro-Melt CCW alloy joins Carpenter's extensive list of specialty materials that have provided a combination of excellent wear and corrosion resistance for a variety of applications.

CarTech Micro-Melt CCW alloy has been shown to combat the wear and corrosion environment encountered by oil platform structural components. The addition of controlled amounts of carbon and nitrogen, selected carbide forming elements, and chromium to a cobalt matrix has resulted in outstanding wear resistance in saltwater environments. CarTech Micro-Melt CCW prealloyed, gas-atomized powder can be used to coat components by all major surface enhancement processes including (1) laser cladding, (2) thermal spray, (3) plasma spray, (4) HVOF, and (5) PTA.
