W1.2343 is a conventional melted hot work tool steel with good properties at high temperatures. It is normally used in various tooling applications in die casting and hot forging, and can be eventually used in cold work and plastic mold applications.

W1.2343 ISOTROP is made through a unique and original process developed by Industeel ensuring a perfect structural homogeneity of master blocks. It exhibits improved properties such has very high toughness and high resistance to heat checking. It meets most International technical specifications governing die casting applications.

It is then very well adapted to ensure an extended life time of aluminium or magnesium die casting dies: long production runs, pressure casting, water cooled parts… W1.2343 ISOTROP is a good alternative to ESR / VAR grades used in the die casting industry.
It can be used as well for hot forging die inserts
