The 50/50 tin/lead soldering alloy can be used to solder most copper and copper-based alloys, lead, steel and nickel alloys. It should not be used in applications where soldered joints are subject to high stress or vibrations, since this alloy lacks the necessary ductility. Additionally, lead-bearing solders may not be used in potable water systems.

Applications
Tin/lead solders are inexpensive, low temperature solders that can be used on most ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, copper, bronze, brass and lead. They are used for automotive and radiator applications, as well as electrical and general purpose soldering.

Note: Lead-bearing solders may not be used in potable water systems.
