CarTech No. 10 stainless is an austenitic, chromium-nickel stainless steel with a lower work-hardening rate than typical 18-8 type alloys. It has been used in cold heading and upsetting applications.

It has been used for fasteners, cold headed bolts, screws, upset nuts, instrument parts and jobs involving severe coining, extrusion, and swaging. It also has been used in cold-headed screws and bolts made with recessed heads and for upset and punched nuts and for thread rolling.
