CarTech® Electrical Iron

Generic Family: Steel - Wrought - Low AlloySupplied by: Carpenter Technology Corporation
CarTech Electrical Iron is a low carbon iron produced using the electric arc melting process. Other elements commonly found in low carbon irons are held as low as possible in order to provide a material capable of producing good direct current soft magnetic properties.

After a standard magnetic aging treatment, HC from 15 kG increases less than 6% when employing a 1562°F (850°C) forming gas initial heat treatment.

Applications:
CarTech Electrical Iron has been used to fabricate various types of magnetic circuit core members in electromechanical relays, solenoids, magnetic pole pieces, and various other magnetic flux carrying members.
