CarTech® Pyrotool® Alloy A
To achieve the best combination of hardness and toughness for tooling applications, CarTech Pyrotool alloy A is annealed and solution treated simultaneously at 1650°F (899°C) for two hours, then oil quenched. It is then aged at 1300°F (704°C) for sixteen hours and air cooled followed by aging at 1200°F (649°C) for eight hours and air cooled.
CarTech Pyrotool alloy A, when aged, attains a hardness of Rockwell C 30/35.
