CarTech® EVANOHM® Alloy R
CarTech EVANOHM alloy R is exceptionally stable (1 to 15 microhms per year). While many other alloys are susceptible to precipitation hardening which changes electrical properties unpredictably, the resistivity of CarTech EVANOHM alloy R always increases during heat treatment. Once obtained, its resistivity does not change significantly even when it is used at temperatures as high as 204°C (400 °F).
The TCR of CarTech EVANOHM alloy R can be supplied at ±5 parts per million per °C from - 65 to + 125°C in fine sizes.
Time effects on CarTech EVANOHM alloy R also are minimal compared with other resistance alloys. Standard precision resistors produced using EVANOHM alloy R display a maximum drift of 5 ppm per year for 15 years (for resistance from 1 ohm to 1 megohm); secondary standards display drifts from ± 6 to ±23 ppm per year over a 14 year period.
Applications:
CarTech EVANOHM alloy R has been used principally as round wire and ribbon for precision wound resistors.
