CarTech® TOPHEL® Alloy
CarTech Tophel alloy is the positive thermoelement for the standard Type K thermocouple. This alloy possesses excellent oxidation resistance and EMF stability. It is also the positive leg of the Type E couple.
The standard positive thermoelements for Type K or Type E couples cannot be used in reducing atmospheres where preferential oxidation ("green rot") of chromium occurs.
