Uddeholm Exvar is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed tool steel characterized by:

Good temper resistance

Good hot strength

Good nitridability

Good ductility/toughness

High thermal conductivity

Good machinability

Uddeholm Exvar is delivered in soft annealed condition to approximately 190 HB.

Applications
The main hot work application areas for Uddeholm Exvar is as die steel and components in extrusion of aluminium and in dies for forging of steel.
