Stena EN AB-48000
General description of properties:
Eutectic alloy that requires cleaning of the melt at elevated temperatures, high resistance to wear and good machinability.
Suitable applications:
For castings that must have high strength at elevated temperatures and good resistance to wear, such as for pistons for internal combustion engines.
Heat treatment:
Hardened to maximum strength by solution heat treatment at 520-530°C for 5-10 hours, followed by quenching and artificial ageing at 150-175°C for 15-5 hours.
