DP600HR is an advanced hot-rolled, pickled and oiled, high-strength steel. The microstructure of dual phase steels consists of a soft ferrite matrix with a dispersed mainly martensitic phase. At a given high tensile strength dual phase steels show a low yield ratio (Re/Rm) and a strong work hardening capacity. Therefore, dual phase steels are especially suited for forming operations with high stretching portions.

European standard prEN 10338: 2009 covered hot-rolled multiphase steels with higher yield strength for cold forming. We have used this standard to develop DP600HR, which not only meets the properties of the corresponding HDT580X in the standard, but also in many cases exceeds them.

Benefits
The advanced hot-rolled pickled and oiled DP600HR allows the user to increase the strength of the finished component or to reduce the thickness of the steel, or both. This can increase the output from each tonne of steel and produce products that are strong, light and safe under load. Its high strain-hardening capacity gives it good formability.

Dual Phase hot rolled steel is currently available only from Tata Steel in the Netherlands. It may become available in the future from Tata Steel in the UK. Please consult.
