NSB 6110S™ is a high strength stainless steel alloy powder that can be processed using HIP (hot isostatic pressing) and other methods to produce near net shape industrial components with nanostructured microstructures. These microstructures provide a unique combination of strength and ductility that translate into more flexible and cost effective designs. Components can be formed entirely of NSB 6110S™ or the NanoSteel alloy can be HIP-clad on a substrate.

NanoSteel's first PM alloy introduction is in valve bodies, one of the largest markets for HIPed high strength steel powder. For example, NSB 6110S™ possesses ~90% of its strength after HIPing and is suitable for direct use without post production heat treatment. In some cases, these reduced processing steps as well as the potential for thinner wall thickness can provide opportunities for cost efficiencies. When necessary, an additional short heat treatment cycle can be used to further enhance the mechanical properties of NSB 6110S™.
