AUBERT & DUVAL NY925
NY925 is a ?' (Ni3(Ti,Al)) phase precipitation hardened alloy combining good mechanical properties up to 550°C with excellent corrosion resistance in reducing media such as acid gas environments. In particular its excellent stress corrosion resistance in these environments makes it suitable for use in offshore oil production wells and well-heads with a high H2S level.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Ni-Fe-Cr superalloy with additions of Mo, Cu, Ti and Nb giving excellent mechanical properties after solution treatment and ageing.
- NY925 shows excellent stress corrosion resistance in acid gas environments (CO2/H2S) and can be used at up to 40 HRC in accordance with NACE standard MR01-75.
- Its chromium and molybdenum contents provide good general and localised corrosion resistance in a wide range of corrosive environments. The alloy may, however, be susceptible to localised (pitting or crevice) corrosion in strongly oxidising environments.
