Features
- Aluminum alloy sheet for body panels requires low yield strength at forming and high yield strength after paint baking. The SG112 alloy, which was developed in response to requests for these properties, features high formability and high paint bake hardenability.
- The 6xxx Series alloys display no stretcher strain marking and they have good recyclability
- In particular, the T4 temper demonstrates high paint bake hardenability at a low temperature for a short period, using special treatment and quality control. This gives us confidence that it will be possible to produce even lighter alloys.
- The SG112 alloy is typical of the 6xxx Series for body panels.
