Product Description
Finkl LR is recommended for plastics molds zinc die casting dies, and other applications that require a wear resistant mold for long run applications. LR is not recommended for applications that require a finish better than can be achieved with 400 grit paper.

Finkl LR has proven itself in abrasive applications, Such as compression molding or mold injection when glass reinforced resin is required.

Finkl LR is in stock and immediately available in the prehardened condition, with a hardness of 331-363 BHN. Other hardness ranges are available by special request

Finkl LR mold steel is forged utilizing wide-die techniques which assure consolidated centers and fine grain structure, resulting in improved properties throughout.

Finkl LR is 100% ultrasonically Tested according to the most rigorous standards. It is fully warranted for molds and dies.

The chemical composition of Finkl LR has been carefully developed to enhance the wear resistance of the mold in the long run applications. The addition of alloying elements gives LR excellent through hardening characterristics. This property of LR is especially useful for deep cavity molds and dies. The chemical composition in conjunction with the special processing steps creates a long run plastic mold steel with consistent texturing response.
