Finkl 4140 is a high strength, low alloy steel, suitable for certain nondecorative, noncritical plastic molds that do not require the polish or the very fine texturing and/or etching standards of the P-20 type of material.
Supplied in the pre-hardened condition, approximately 300 Brinell.
Finkl 4140 is produced exclusively by the Finkl patented VAD process, providing the most homogeneous structure and maximum machinability.
Finkl 4140 is always wide die forged steel with a minimum of 4 to 1 reduction of area.
Finkl 4140 is 100% ultrasonically examined.
