CarTech® 180 Alloy
The number designation of each alloy corresponds to its specific resistivity. 30 alloy, closest in resistivity to copper, has been used in applications where only a small amount of resistance is required and relatively high temperature coefficient can be tolerated. In contrast, CarTech 180 alloy, closest to the CarTech CUPRON alloys, has been used where significant resistance is required or where a lower temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is necessary.
Applications for these alloys have included lead wires for resistors, heater wires for electric blankets, fuse wires, support wires and wire used in high-resistance magnetic coils.
